Program Overview

This course is designed to provide participants with the roles and functions of MDS 3.0 in skilled nursing facilities. The concept of MDS 3.0 focuses on the optimal improvement of the residents assessment physical, mental,  psycho-social well-being while reporting quality of care & reimbursement payments


Intended Audience: 

This training is great for all SNF Team members including MDS Nurses, DONs, ADON, Rehab, Social Service, Admissions, Restorative Nurse, Nurse Managers, Business Office, Nurse Practitioners, etc.

MDS 101 Basic MDS 3.0 Essentials

  • Intro to MDS 3.0 for SNF
  • Understanding importance of reference dates
  • Determining Significant Change Guidelines for Residents
  • Review and Practice of the MDS 3.0 form
    Exam I Review

MDS 102- Mastering Medicare Part A  for Skilled Nursing Facilities 

    • Medicare Basics
    • Review and Practice Medicare Part A Assessment Scheduling
    • Patient Driven Payment (PDPM)
    • IPAs
    • Intro to ICD-10 mapping for MDS
    • Section GG Review
    • Exam II

Live Virtual Workshops & 8 Week classes (Great for Beginners)

Self Paced Course – 8 Modules Video Course

  • Designed for busy clinicians unable to meet scheduling requirements
  • Recorded course in same format as live sessions
  • Two exams with passing of 80% required (two attempts)
  • Hard copy of books and materials shipped to personal address or facility (please specify if shipping to facility)
  • Up to 60 days to complete program requirements (May complete when all requirements are met) 20 hours coursework.
