4 Million Reasons to Celebrate!

National Nurses Day   May 6, 2019

Nurse Assessment Coordinator Day   May 7, 2019

Both important dates to be celebrated on the within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year.

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896. Each of ANA’s state and territorial nurses associations promotes the nursing profession at the state and regional levels. Each conducts celebrations on these dates to recognize the contributions that nurses and nursing make to the community.

The ANA supports and encourages National Nurses Week recognition programs through the state and district nurses associations, other specialty nursing organizations, educational facilities, and independent health care companies and institutions.

To help celebrate the nurse in your facility the ANA has provided a toolkit of download of items such as thank you card, recognition certificate and other great ideas to enhance appreciating the nursing in your facility. click here for download

National Skilled Nursing Care Week

The American Health Care Association offers insight on the theme:

“What are you doing for yourself and others every day? What makes you happy? How are you contributing to your happiness and the happiness of others? Every day, skilled nursing centers assist our seniors and people with disabilities in living their happiest and best lives. Whether it’s planting, cooking, reading or listening to music, these centers pay it forward by helping individuals find their own happiness to improve quality of life.

The observance is sponsored by the American Health Care Association and recognizes the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.

National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) will focus on living soulfully.

This week will celebrate skilled nursing centers, and their residents and staff, by showcasing how they achieve happy minds and healthy souls. This coming May, show us how you Live Soulfully.”

For more information about, visit the National Skilled Nursing Care Week website.  Please use the hashtag #NSNCW when posting on social media.
